A Complete Guide To Unrolling Your Boxed Vinyl Chair Mat

Please Read First

Do not use Heat Guns or Hairdryers to heat. This may permanently damage your chair mat.
Mats may come with straps or boxed depending on the supplier and packaging style.

1

Method 1

Lay in a warm room as closely as possible to a window. The ideal temperature will be around 26°. this may take some time and in the colder months, it may not flatten the mat as required.

2

Method 2

Place your mat on a smooth flat surface outside in the sun on a warm sunny day until it flattens (check it every 15 minutes). After it relaxes and is flat move it to a flat cooler area (in the shade or indoors) until it cools and becomes more rigid before using.Be sure to have heavy, flat objects so that you can place them on top of the mat to aid in flattening. Now your mat is ready for installation. Method 3 (This works best when the mat is still in the box)

Open one end of the box and place the open end close to a heater facing the heater into the interior core of the mat. This process should take no longer than 15-30 minutes to soften the mat. We do not recommend this method but in the colder months depending on your location, it may be the only way to make it flat. Please use this method as a last resort. Once the mat is warm being very careful not to burn your hands remove the mat form the box and roll our as shown in the above video. Putting weight on top of the mat overnight will help speed up the flattening process.

Please follow all manufacturer use and safety guidelines provided by the heater manufacturer. Do not use the mat until it has cooled down otherwise you will damage the surface. Use extreme caution when using any of the suggested methods for relaxing your mats. They are only suggestions and we are not responsible for accidents or damage resulting from the use of any of these methods. You use them at your own risk.
